Potomac Clay

Potomac:  The Mid-Atlantic River, flowing from Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland to the District of Columbia and the Chesapeake Bay. The Potomac Watershed includes parts of these states (and district), as well as Pennsylvania.  The C&O Canal and Towpath run the entire length of the Potomac River, and many varied hiking trails cross, including the Appalachian Trail and the Tuscarora Trail.

Clay: Fine-grained soil and rock. Used by potters and sculptors, ceramic artists, students and children, to make things.  Functional pottery, sculpted work, indoor and outdoor, long-lasting and temporary.

Potomac Clay focuses on clay-related events, places, people and ideas, with the Potomac River as a geographic artery.  Get to know our region, get outside, and connect with other clay and river enthusiasts!
